- Following that line of thinking what made you upgade from your CPM system
- running wordstar to the Peach tree stuff. I agree that Internet apliances are
- real nice but I still think there will be a need for local apps such as SS. SP
- and database. Besides I don't want some corporation controlling what I get and
- charging me a fee every time I want to get it. (ie code loaded off the net
- such as Java). Anyone rmember why timesharing went away. It charge you for
- everything but the democacy of pc's and low cost did away with it.
- How much would an upgrade to Peach tree cost. I am suuming it would get better
- over time and require upgrades. I was able to buy 95, Office Professional,
- Bookshelf for 329 and in tunr eliminated 3rd party fax software, terminal
- emulation, and tcpip/ dial networking stuff upgrades because all that stuff is
- in 95. That makes it a break even right there.
